Marta Lopez Alamo: Modeling, Empathy, and Digital Stardom

Marta's journey in the realm of modeling is woven with threads of resilience and tenacity. It commenced in Barcelona during the Traffic Models Fresh Faces 2012 contest when an agent discovered her.

Recalling the experience, Marta Lopez Alamo shared, ‘I did the casting for the contest. Although I didn’t win, I was offered a contract.’ This marked her inaugural step into the world of modeling.

A twist of fate intervened as health issues halted her ascent, “I know it may sound like a movie, but my life took an unexpected turn when I faced some health issues, details of which you can find on my social media. My focus shifted entirely to my health. However, upon recovery, I redirected my attention towards my career as a commercial and fashion model. Unfortunately, the ideal starting age for modeling is typically between 15-16 years old, and during that crucial time, I was grappling with illness.”

The Miss World Spain pageant chapter in Marta’s life is painted in hues of unexpected joy and introspection. Unassuming about her chances, the top five placement was a revelation, a moment etched in time. Opting out of Miss Universe to focus on her studies and career, Marta’s decision reflects a nuanced understanding of priorities. Yet, the nostalgia of past triumphs lingers, leaving the door ajar for future possibilities.

We recently engaged in a fascinating conversation with Marta, during which she candidly shared insights into her lifestyle, philosophy, and outlined her plans for 2024.

HARPER’S BAZAAR VN (HBZVN): How would you describe your fashion aesthetic? Do you have any go-to fashion essentials or favorite designers that reflect your personal style?

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: My fashion aesthetic can be described as pretty classy. While I stay attuned to the latest fashion trends, I never compromise my personal style. I draw inspiration from iconic designers such as YSL, Gianni Versace, and Cristobal Balenciaga, who have left an indelible mark on the world of fashion. I’m particularly drawn to the timeless elegance and top model vibes reminiscent of old-money glamour.

HBZVN: Your beauty and skincare routines are a topic of interest for your followers. Can you share some of your favorite beauty tips or must-have products that contribute to your radiant and flawless look?

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential for a radiant and flawless look. Balancing physical well-being, hormonal control, hydration, and proper nutrition are crucial aspects. However, equally important is enjoying life – that’s the real secret. Regarding products, I religiously follow my skincare routine for both face and body every day. And I also take food supplements.

HBZVN: Given your diverse interests, particularly in areas like travels and philosophy, how do you incorporate art and creativity into your daily life? Are there specific artists, movies, or philosophies that inspire you and influence your personal style?

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: My daily life is a combination of diverse interests, including travel and philosophy. I incorporate art and creativity through extensive reading, often delving into both novels and empowering books simultaneously. Old movies are a constant source of inspiration for me. Learning about the history of the countries I visit is a passion, influencing not only my personal style but also shaping my behavior. This blend of cinema, literature, and exploration enriches my worldview in multifaceted ways.

HBZVN: You are a very sensitive and empathic person. What character traits do you value in people?

MARTA ALAMO: I value the same traits in others as I possess. For friendships and potential partnerships, sharing similar values is crucial. Without that common ground, success might prove elusive, but even if it doesn’t work out, there’s always a valuable lesson in the experience.

The challenge, or perhaps the advantage, for me is that I tend to be overly honest and generous. I genuinely believe in the inherent goodness of people, making intentional harm something I cannot fathom. I prioritize honesty, integrity, and concern for others over narcissism. Finding such qualities can be challenging in today’s world, but as you grow, you learn to choose your friendships and the people you surround yourself with.

HBZVN: What qualities would you like to cultivate in yourself?

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: I aspire to cultivate all my skills and acquire new ones. I have a passion for knowledge, whether it’s about history, society, music, politics, cinema, philosophy, or science. Understanding the historical context enriches conversations, providing a perspective beyond the influence of social media and TikTok trends.

HBZVN: How do you explain your success and popularity on social networks, particularly Instagram?

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: I believe authenticity is paramount in social media. We essentially serve as marketing tools, akin to TV advertisements, but with the unique ability to connect with our community. To achieve this, I dedicate time to sharing aspects of my life and thoughts naturally through stories. This allows people to know me, and I strive to be a helpful figure to those who follow me. Building a community requires belief in what you convey, honesty, and mindful curation of content.

HBZVN: What topics are your fans most interested in?

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: My community is primarily interested in beauty and skincare, travel and hotels, fashion, health, and lifestyle.

MARTA LOPEZ ALAMO: For myself, I wish for happiness, fulfillment, and success both personally and professionally. I believe the ultimate goal for every human being should be happiness. I am grateful for the life I enjoy and the accomplishments I’ve achieved. Simultaneously, I am ambitious and thrive on working hard to achieve more.

In 2024, I manifest and actively work towards abundant job opportunities and happiness. For those around me, I wish for a more equal and peaceful world, as well as health and happiness for every individual.
