Hannah Widmer is not your average model; she is also a skilled equestrian. These two contrasting fields shape Hannah’s resilient body and steadfast spirit. A recent shoot of Hannah Widmer with Harper’s Bazaar was built on these dual strengths, showcasing her mastery in front of the camera and her seamless interaction with the horses.

“Always strive to present yourself authentically and proudly” is the professional mantra of Hannah Widmer. Her natural and captivating photos are undeniable proofs of her mindset. If you ever get the chance to join her on a photoshoot, you’ll witness a model who is proactive, adaptable to every concept, but at the same time always able to convey her unique identity. This is her secret, which she revealed partly during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

HARPER’S BAZAAR: Lovely to meet you, Hannah! You are such a multifaceted individual. What qualities help you succeed in both equestrian sports and modeling?

HANNAH WIDMER: I prioritize always being my authentic self. This means knowing who I am and what I stand for. I believe in being kind to everyone and having love and empathy for those around me. I also value creativity—I’m a very creative person, so expressing myself creatively is vital in all areas of my life. It’s how I show who I am.

HARPER’S BAZAAR: What has been the most rewarding moment of your career?

HANNAH WIDMER: The most rewarding moment of my career would be witnessing the evolution of my work. I’m no longer afraid to express myself in front of the camera. I feel so comfortable with it now—it feels like a friend. I’ve grown to really enjoy being photographed.

Being featured on a billboard in Times Square was a huge honor for me and my career. Every project I’ve worked on has been a stepping stone to the next, and I’m truly proud of the journey I’ve taken to get here.

HARPER’S BAZAAR: What keeps you inspired and motivated, especially during challenging times in your career?

HANNAH WIDMER: Inspiration is everywhere, and I know I have to work hard on myself because opportunities don’t wait. I love what I do, so I’m motivated to keep improving. However, I’ve faced some health challenges this past year, which taught me to love my body and treat it like a temple. So, work hard and embrace challenges, but don’t forget to take care of yourself.

HARPER’S BAZAAR: Given your professional commitments, do you travel frequently? Are there any places that hold a special significance for you?

HANNAH WIDMER: Yes, I’m always on the go. My favorite place is Bora Bora; it’s a tropical paradise. It’s so vibrant and beautiful—a place where I feel immense peace and relaxation. The coral reefs and lagoons there are beyond amazing. I also have a special place in my heart for Laguna Beach, New York City, and my beloved Northern Wisconsin.

HARPER’S BAZAAR: What’s a typical day for you on set, and how do you prepare for a photoshoot? How do you stay motivated and confident during a photoshoot?

HANNAH WIDMER: Before I go into a shoot, I envision how I want it to go and what I hope to achieve. I have an image in my mind, and I set my focus on making it happen.

I’m a big believer in manifestation—manifesting what we want and hope to achieve is vital for me. From the clothing to the makeup to the poses, I always aim to embody who I am and proudly show that through my vision.

HARPER’S BAZAAR: Thank you for your inspiring words! Wishing you a spectacularly successful year, Hannah!
