Harper’s Bazaar (HBZVN): Simone, your modeling journey has been a path to confidence and self-expression. How did this shoot with Alberto Gonzalez help you explore those aspects of your career even further?
SIMONE FLEMMER: To shoot with Alberto Gonzalez was such an honor. He is not just an amazing photographer, but an amazing person. He is very hands on and loves to get all the details of the shoot to showcase a story. He boosted my confidence during the shoot making the photos even stronger. His ability to capture raw emotion/motion allowed me to embody the essence of the moment rather than just posing. This shoot felt like a reminder that just having confidence in modeling won’t make you beautiful but it’s about how you feel in the space you’re creating the art.

HBZVN: The concept of this photo shoot draws from the mystique of the sea, blending elegance with strength. How did it feel to embody both power and grace through the themes presented in these images?
SIMONE FLEMMER: Embodying both power and grace in this shoot felt effortless because the sea itself holds both qualities so naturally. The waves carried a quiet strength, while the flowing gowns added a sense of elegance, and I let those elements guide my movement.

HBZVN: Nature plays a significant role in this editorial, especially with its deep connection to the sea. How did you relate to the environment during the shoot, and how did it influence your poses and expressions?
SIMONE FLEMMER: Being by the sea felt natural and freeing, like stepping into a world where movement and emotion flowed effortlessly. The ocean’s quiet power, both gentle and intense, mirrored my poses and expressions. The sea makes you feel both small and infinite, and that energy shaped this shoot. It wasn’t just about wearing gowns but becoming part of the landscape, embracing its power, mystery, and beauty.

HBZVN: You’re always passionate about bringing editorial stories to life through fashion and photography, as well as inspiring others to embrace their unique beauty. How do you think the visual storytelling in this shoot will resonate with those who admire your work?
SIMONE FLEMMER: People will connect with this shoot because it captures the balance of strength and beauty in a way that feels both powerful and elegant. In fashion people are always looking for something that can inspire those who view the artwork. In this sense, I am hoping this shoot can inspire and resonate with those who come across it.

HBZVN: As mentioned, feminine grace and power are central themes in this fashion editorial. How do you personally define these qualities in a woman?
SIMONE FLEMMER: For me personally, feminine grace and power are all about balance. Just like the ocean, they can be soft and calm, yet strong and unstoppable. Grace is in the way a woman carries herself, in her confidence, kindness, and ability to move through life with ease. Power is in her strength, her resilience, and the way she stands firm in who she is.
Shooting this editorial in those gorgeous gowns really embodied that feeling. It reminded me that true power doesn’t always have to be loud. Sometimes, it’s in the quiet confidence of knowing who you are and embracing it fully.
