HARPER’S BAZAAR VIETNAM (HBZVN): Your career spans over a decade, and you’re known for natural-looking results. What principles guide your approach to plastic surgery?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: My main principle is individuality. Every patient is unique, so I focus on enhancing natural beauty while keeping results subtle and harmonious. My goal is for patients to look refreshed and confident—never overly “surgical.”
To achieve this, I use advanced techniques and take time to understand each person’s needs, preferences, and personality. Open communication is key to ensuring we share the same vision. No matter the request, my approach stays the same: create results that highlight a patient’s best features while preserving their natural look.

HBZVN: Relocating to Dubai must have been a major turning point. What challenges did you face in such a competitive market, and what opportunities has the city provided for your growth?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: Moving to Dubai was a transformative step in my career. The city is highly competitive, with many skilled professionals in aesthetic medicine. To stand out, I had to offer something unique—signature procedures developed over years of experience, which now attract patients from around the world.
Dubai’s openness to innovation has also been a huge advantage. The availability of cutting-edge technology and advanced materials allows me to refine my techniques and stay ahead of trends. The city’s diverse clientele has expanded my expertise and provided invaluable growth opportunities. Dubai’s energy and ambition align with my own, constantly motivating me to innovate and reach new milestones.

HBZVN: You began your medical journey in Ukraine. How has your homeland influenced your career and identity? What does Ukraine mean to you today?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: Ukraine is my foundation—it’s where I was born, educated, and built my career. The skills and experiences I gained there shaped who I am today. Before expanding internationally, I reached significant milestones in Ukraine, which gave me the confidence to grow further.
On a personal level, Ukraine will always be a part of me. I stay connected with my roots, visiting family and supporting those back home. Professionally, it reminds me of the resilience and dedication that drive me forward. No matter where I go, I am proud to be Ukrainian.

HBZVN: Your practice is known for its patient-centered approach. How do you tailor your techniques to ensure each patient feels confident and empowered?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: A patient-centered approach starts with understanding the individual—not just their physical features, but their goals, concerns, and vision. From the first consultation, I focus on trust and open communication to ensure every patient feels heard and supported.
Beyond surgery, my team and I provide a holistic experience, including 24/7 post-operative care, dedicated nurses, personalized meal plans, and private transportation for a stress-free recovery. Psychological readiness is also key—I work closely with patients to ensure they are mentally and emotionally prepared before proceeding.

MAKSYM IVANCHUK: Yes, I’ve had the privilege of working with many celebrities and public figures. These clients often have high expectations and require a discreet, personalized approach. Building trust and clear communication is essential to achieving results that align with their vision while ensuring the best possible outcome.
Since their appearance is often tied to their careers, the pressure for perfection is higher. However, my approach stays the same—I focus on natural, balanced enhancements that complement their features without looking obvious. Ultimately, it’s a collaboration built on mutual understanding, ensuring both the client and I are satisfied with the results.

HBZVN: Living in Dubai, a hub for luxury and style, how does fashion influence your life? Do you have a signature style or favorite designers?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: Dubai’s luxury and sophistication influence both my personal and professional life. The city’s attention to detail—from architecture to fashion—mirrors the precision I bring to my work.
I appreciate fine craftsmanship in clothing, watches, and cars, valuing quality over trends. Timeless designs and bold statements that reflect my personality appeal to me. My love for watches and luxury cars also ties into my profession—both require precision, innovation, and artistry. Being in Dubai’s culture of excellence constantly pushes me to refine my skills and set higher standards in my practice.

HBZVN: Your international clientele and lifestyle involve frequent travel. What destinations inspire you, and how do you unwind and stay creative?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: My schedule is demanding, starting at 4:30 AM and ending around midnight, leaving little time for hobbies. When I need to recharge, I seek quiet, peaceful destinations. The Maldives is my favorite escape—its serene beaches help me reset mentally and physically.
Even when traveling, I stay connected to my work, which is also my greatest passion. I never tire of it, and dedicating myself to my patients keeps me motivated and inspired. For me, work isn’t just a job—it’s a way of life.
HBZVN: If you could perform plastic surgery on a famous fictional character—like Pinocchio for his nose or the Hulk for his muscles—who would you choose and why?
MAKSYM IVANCHUK: What a fun question! If I could perform a plastic surgery procedure on a famous fictional character, the first one that comes to mind would be Shrek. He’s a beloved figure, known for his humor and charm, but his ears could definitely use some refinement. While they’re iconic, reshaping them slightly could enhance his overall look while keeping his personality intact.
This question actually reflects an important part of my work: balancing individuality with aesthetic improvement. Whether it’s a fictional character or a real patient, my goal is always to create natural, harmonious results that enhance rather than change a person’s unique features. Even small adjustments, when done with care, can make a big difference.
