In English, ‘Cloud Nine’ symbolizes an overwhelming feeling of joy and euphoria. No one really knows where the term originated. It might have come from meteorology, where the ninth cloud is a very high one. Alternatively, it could have been popularized by the 1968 song ‘Cloud Nine’ by The Temptations. Regardless of its origins, the phrase still represents the ultimate sense of happiness and bliss.
